World Gym to expand international presence with Big Fish PR

World Gym has signed Big Fish PR to support the roll out of its international arm.  The brand was founded in 1976 by Joe Gold, one of the original ‘muscle beach’ ringleaders.  It has more than 200 locations worldwide and aims to widen its international presence.

World Gym, famous for its iconic gorilla T-shirt, was recently purchased by the Cammilleri, family who have invested in a major rebranding exercise and plan to elevate the brand to the pre-eminent position in the global fitness industry.  World Gym targets 18 – 34 year olds, with a mid-priced membership offer and innovative programming based on the ‘West Coast California’ theme where serious fitness meets celebrity.
